The game scene feels a bit weird these days. Events shutting down, companies laying off artists, but there are more inventive and exciting games being created than ever.
We want to cultivate a space for the weird and wonderful. Bringing together game-makers and playful artists to share ideas, create together and to grow the creative landscape that we want to see thrive.

Welcome to Games Garden!

What is it?

More conversations less talks
The discussion is the most important bit. Let's share the knowledge and grow this thing together.

More show and tell less showcase
Let's see the weird stuff. No more banks of identical monitors in featureless rooms.

Games events as a cooperative
This whole thing is an experiment in community action
We want to see how far we can get without having to rely on precarious funding, and to shift the long tradition of artists passing the same twenty quid around.

Everyone can be involved
Tell us what you'd want to see at future Games Garden events. Tell us how you would want to be included in the process.

To kick things off we want to have a little party. A gathering to chat games, test some demos and plan for the next one! Games Garden Party has two strands, a relaxed unconference and an informal exhibition. Over an afternoon we'll host a series of conversations led by you! Alongside that we want to offer a space to show a handful of games. Things that might not get a chance to be seen otherwise, things that don't fit the mold.

Who are we?

Hi! We're Nick and Daniel. We've worked as producers, facilitators, curators, fabricators on various games exhibitions, workshops, showcases, programmes over the last decade.
It's given us some of the most enriching experiences of our lives, and we want to keep it up. This time, the goal is specifically to experiment with the format, to make it more communal, more collaborative and more supportive of the game communities that we love.
